一.什么是福音的实质?
What is the essences of the gospel

1. 耶稣是神，救主，基督，祂的义救了我们 ( v.1)
   Jesus is God, Savior, Christ, and His righteousness saved us



2. 耶稣基督的福音赐给人真正的需要：生命与虔敬(v.3)
   God has provided all that is necessary for life and godliness



3. 福音改变人的生命，脱离败坏，与神的性情有份(v.4）
   God’s power transformed us that we may be partakers of the divine nature

二. 基督徒成长的八个特质
Eight characteristics of a growing Christian

1. 信心：信心不但是信仰的基础，也是我们行为的基础
   Faith: faith is not only the basis for belief but also the basis for our behavior



2. 美德: 在我們生命中表現出神的美德，叫祂得到榮耀和稱贊
   Moral excellence: to express God’s beauty in our lives in order to glorify God



3. 知识 ：包括教义的知识和经历性的知识
   Knowledge: a doctrinal knowledge and an experiential knowledge of God



4. 节制：就是不放纵
   Self-control: self-control is the opposite of self-indulgence



5. 忍耐:使我们能够坚持不懈地追求虔敬的性格
   Perseverance: enables us to persist in our pursuit of godly character



6. 虔敬：虔敬是我们的信仰在日常生活中的实行
   Godliness: godliness is the belief we practice in our daily walk



7. 弟兄的爱 ：不是自然就有的，需要追求培植
   Brotherly kindness: it is not automatic, so we need to pursue it



8. 爱: 神牺牲的爱不是根据我们的光景，而是出于祂的所是
   Love : God’s unconditional love is evoked not by what we are, but by what He is

三. 追求成圣的益处
The benefits of pursuing holiness

1. 使我们在成圣的路上不致闲懒，不结果子
   Keep us from being useless and unfruitful in our relationship with Christ



2. 使我们很好为主而活，不忘记救赎恩典，专注将来的盼望
   Live a good life for the Lord: do not forget the saving grace, and fix our hearts on the future hope



3. 保守我们在患难中不致跌倒，并且丰丰富富地进入神的国
   Do not fail in our Christian lives, and receive a triumphant welcome into the kingdom of God
